Sometimes my vehicle will make a sharp turn, like it is trying to turn me around

Cause: System is in reverse mode.

Resolution: Drive forward while disengaged and hold the Auto steer button down on the keyboard for 5 seconds, this will put the system back into forward mode.

This can be prevented if after you power up your Wheelman you drive forward.
